The upcoming 2010 world cup is being held in johannesburg, South Africa beginning this june. the adidas designed game ball was just unveiled and is named Jabulani, an isizulu word meaning to celebrate. The ball features 11 different colours chosen to represent the 11 players of each team and the 11 official languages and tribes of south africa. the design of the ball aims to evoke ‘african spirit’.

10 High Calorie Food

1. Popcorn:
Hot air popcorn turns an individual into a hot air balloon when butter and salt become the star of the show.

2. Rice Cake + Peanut Butter:
It's not the rice cake the dieter has need in fretting about - rather what goes on top of it. Most of us can get a little lost in our peanut butter jar, can't we?


3. Nuts:
A handful of nuts can weigh in heavily on the Calorie Scales, particularly with those having large hands. Measure out servings to keep fat and calories at a healthy level. And be proud of those large hands!


4. Side Salad + Dressing:
A simple healthy salad turns into a dieter's nightmare when grated cheese, croutons, bacon bits and full-blown salad dressing is added. Opt for lite to be light.


5. Cereal:

Grizzlies Recall Hasheem Thabeet from NBA Development League's Dakota Wizards


The Memphis Grizzlies recalled center Hasheem Thabeet from the Dakota Wizards, the team’s NBA Development League’s affiliate, Grizzlies General Manager and Vice President of Basketball Operations Chris Wallace announced today.


The second overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, Thabeet averaged a double-double with 13.8 points and 11.2 rebounds along with 3.17 blocks on 50.0 percent shooting in 31.3 minutes in six games (four starts) with Dakota after being assigned by the Grizzlies on Feb. 25.


The 7-3, 267-pound center, who led the Wizards to a 5-1 record, scored a D-League career-high 19 points on Feb. 28 at Fort Wayne and grabbed a personal-best 18 rebounds on March 5 at Tulsa.


The 23-year-old rookie is averaging 2.5 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.16 blocks (second among first-year players) in 50 games with the Grizzlies.

Mgodi wa Buzwagi jana ulithibitisha kuwepo kwa wagonjwa watatu ambao ni wafanyakazi wa mgodi wenye virusi vya H1N1, au mafua ya nguruwe. Wafanyakazi hao ni wakazi wa mgodini na mpaka sasa hali zao ni nzuri na wanaendelea kupata nafuu.


Hapo awali mgodi ulikwishachukua hatua za dharura, ambazo ni pamoja na; kupima afya za wafanyakazi , kuwatenga walioathirika na kuwapatia dawa za Tamilflu ambazo ni maalum kwa kutibu virusi hivyo.


Mgodi huo ulituma vipimo vinne kwa ajili ya upambanuzi wa aina ya virusi, katika Taasisi ya Taifa ya Utafiti wa Maswala ya Utabibu (NIMRI), ilioko Dar es Salaam. Hapo Jumaatatu Machi 1, NIMRI ilirudisha majibu yaliothibitisha uwepo wa virusi vya H1N1 kwenye vipimo vitatu kati ya vinne vilivyowasilishwa.


Mgodi wa Buzwagi unafanya kazi kwa karibu na daktari wa wilaya ya Kahama pamoja na Wizara ya Afya kufuatilia hali ya walioathirika na kuthibiti kusambaa zaidi kwa ugonjwa. Vilevile timu ya wataalamu imetumwa kutoka Wizara ya Afya na bingwa wa maswala ya afya wa Barrick pia yupo mgodini kutoa ushauri na kusimamia matibabu.


Wafanyakazi wote wasio na majukumu ya lazima wamerudishwa majumbani na mienendo ya watu wanoingia na kutoka mgodini unathibitiwa ipasavyo.



Mpaka sasa watu 21 wako kwenye karantini na wanapatiwa matibabu kamili. Bado ni mapema mno kubaini chanzo cha virusi kwa vile uchunguzi bado unaendelea.

The top five cancer-causing foods 

1. Hot Dogs
Because they are high in nitrates, the Cancer Prevention Coalition advises that children eat no more than 12 hot dogs a month. If you can't live without hot dogs, buy those made without sodium nitrate.


2. Processed meats and Bacon
Also high in the same sodium nitrates found in hot dogs, bacon, and other processed meats raise the risk of heart disease. The saturated fat in bacon also contributes to cancer.

 3. Doughnuts
Doughnuts are cancer-causing double trouble. First, they are made with white flour, sugar, and hydrogenated oils, then fried at high temperatures. Doughnuts, says Adams , may be the worst food you can possibly eat to raise your risk of cancer.


 4. French fries

Like doughnuts, French fries are made with hydrogenated oils and then fried at high temperatures. They also contain cancer- causing acryl amides which occur during the frying process. They should be called cancer fries, not French fries.



5. Chips, crackers, and cookies
All are usually made with white flour and sugar. Even the ones whose labels claim to be free of trans-fats generally contain small amounts of trans-fats.
